Last Saturday I met a mom. We discussed mindfulness for children. I suggested some books that I found very good… and then she asked me, “but will these books really help my child to meditate and be more mindful, more focused?”
And here is my answer: “The books are really helpful, but the best way to ensure that your child trains his mindfulness is to train yours first". She stopped for 30 seconds. I thought to myself,
"that's it, I've lost her, it was too direct" and finally she smiled. "Ah yes, I understand, walk the talk".
I have taught mindfulness, stress management, and emotional intelligence to children (and adults) for the last 7 years. I have met maybe over 1500 children.
I am a firm believer that self-awareness and self-regulation
